Naming our daughter...

So, one would think that after , ahem, ALOT of years of dreaming of a daughter, that I would have had the perfect name all ready. Not so. I had nothing. Hubby had nothing. We started from square one. For each of my pregnancies we didn't really get into the name thing until we found out the gender of the baby. I'm sure I thought about it a bit, but never seriously until we knew if we were having a boy or a girl. Well, boy, boy and, you guessed it,  another boy. Now we are working on a girls name. We "think" we have it. At least I am sure. G (hubby) has some thoughts but will go along with whatever I choose. He just cannot believe that I haven't had this name picked out since I was about 7. So, as of today we are going with Ella Kate. While Ella has become more popular recently, it is also an old name and I like that. I'm not a fan of some of these new, made up, spelled backward kind of names. Not that they are not good, just not for me. I think Ella is pretty and feminine and will stand the test of time. Same with Kate. It will not be Ella Katherine, just Ella Kate. Will we call her Ella or Ella Kate, not sure. I'm usually not too fond of calling someone by two names, but sometimes it works. In this case it might just work. We will see. So, now our girl has a name. I think :-).

DTC!!!!!

I found out today that we were DTC as of yesterday, 1/18/2012!

I should be thrilled, and I am happy, but I am also really pissed off. My I800A was approved 12/30. I received my approval in the mail on 1/06. That same morning I scanned it to our agency and the turn around time for authentication was suppose to be "about" 4 days. Don't get me wrong, I love our agency, but I am very upset about this. Now our dossier is on it's way to China and no one will be working when it gets there because of Chinese New Year.. I hate delays that could have, or should have been prevented. There is nothing I can do about it now, it's over and the damage is done. Time to move on. Fingers crossed for a quick log in date and a fast LOA.

The wait

The wait...oh the wait is awful. We saw our precious daughters face 6 months ago. On one hand it seems like so long ago. I see her new pictures and she is losing that baby look that she had in the first pictures. She is starting to look like a big girl. I hate that we are missing these changes, but we are grateful that we are getting pictures. On the other hand, since we have seen her we have finished out the summer and the kids are already half way through this school year. WOW. The days are long but the time flies all at the same time. So to keep me busy I take care of these guys
                                                                           That's us

When I'm not doing that..well even when I am..I am passing my time with a little retail therapy. I have been a mom of boys for 13+ years. It's time for a little pink in this house. I  buy little things here and there.
A couple of bows...

a few pair of shoes

and a couple of outfits!

So, that's how I have been passing my time. I figure we still have about 6 months until I can go get our girl. What am I going to do to get through this wait. The shopping is going to have to slow down a bit, afterall, this adoption is not free.

First post

This is my first post on our blog. YAY! I have made this blog for our friends to follow our family on our journeyto bring home our  new daughter from China. I will also post about our other wonderful children too. I have never done this before, but we will see how it goes.
Yesterday we received our I800A approval in the mail. our receipt date was 10/27 and our approval date was 12/30. We are hoping to be DTC in about 10 days. At the most. Hopefully.
Here is what we have been working on

This is our dossier minus the I800A approval. All of these papers have been authenticated through the Chinese Consulate in Washington DC. Our agency now has all of these and as soon as our I797 (I800A) is expedited, this will all go on to China and we will wait for our LOA for this precious little princess.
